How to Get to Caldane Beach

Discover the smallest sandy beach on Giglio Island

Of the four sandy beaches on the island of Giglio, Caldane beach is the smallest. It is located just over a kilometer south of Cannelle beach and can only be reached by boat or on foot.

How to reach the Spiaggia delle Caldane? The beach is 1.2 kilometres from Spiaggia delle Cannelle and can be reached via a beautiful path that runs along the coast and offers a wonderful panoramic view of the sea. Alternatively, it can also be reached by boat:

On foot: in just 25 minutes from Cannelle beach via an easy hiking trail with no great differences in altitude (see below)
By Taxi: only to Cannelle beach, then on foot
By Taxi Boat: 15 minutes, approx. 10 EUR per person per return journey
with Bus: no connection

Hike from Cannelle to Caldane beach

Once at Cannelle beach (link: footpath to Spiaggia delle Cannelle), do not go down to the beach (1), but continue for another 200 metres along the road behind the residential complex. As soon as you reach the sea (you will see the beach on the left and the small harbour “Arturo” on the right), path no. 328 (2) starts on the right: it goes up a short steep ramp and then follows the asphalt road on the left. After 200 metres, the coastal path (3) begins on the left, which takes you to Caldane beach (5) in less than 20 minutes (800 metres) without any difference in altitude. It is one of the most beautiful walks on the island, with stunning panoramic views of the sea. At the very beginning (4) you can also go down to Capo Marino (hiking trail no. 328A).

To get to Le Cannelle, follow the path from Giglio Porto.
Le Cannelle is connected to trail n. 306 which descends from Le Porte, near Giglio Castello.

Note: Although on some maps there is a path that continues from the Caldane beach towards the south, it is not a viable path.
